Due to the current, and forecasted, weather conditions, the Council is receiving a lot of calls from residents either experiencing, or anticipating, flooding in their local areas. Although we will do what we can, the main problems lie with the sewer system which can not take the volume of water running through it in short periods of time, as seen recently during the very heavy rainfall.
In order to ensure that the issues are reported correctly, can we please ask residents to contact the Environment Agency directly on 0800 807060, so that they are aware of the issues in each area, and can respond accordingly? Thames Water can be contacted on 0845 9200 800 should residents wish to contact them also.
The Council will ensure the number for the Environment Agency is also highlighted on the Havering website.
