Travel today 9th August

Travel hotspots
  • With an earlier than usual start and 216,000 spectators expected at the Olympic Park, the Central Line, Jubilee Line and Docklands Light Railway are expected to be busy throughout the day.

  • Hyde Park Corner, Marble Arch and Green Park stations are likely to be very busy this morning due to the women's marathon swimming event.

  • The Metropolitan and Jubilee Lines will experience high demand during the evening rush hour due to the final of the women's football.

  • This evening Westminster station (Beach Volleyball at Horse Guards Parade) and North Greenwich station (Basketball) are also likely to be busy.
    • Games venues in operation today: Olympic Park, Horse Guards Parade, ExCel, Greenwich Park, Wembley Stadium, Wembley Arena, Earls Court, Eton Dorney, City of Coventry Stadium and sailing at Weymouth and Portland.

    • This Friday and Saturday will be the busiest days for the Olympic Park in Stratford.
    Travel disruption
    • A13 Commercial Road in Shadwell has now re-opened after an earlier accident. Delays are occurring.

    • District Line - delays between Turnham Green and Ealing Broadway.

    • Piccadilly Line - delays between Acton Town and Uxbridge.

    • Delays are also occurring on London Midland and Virgin Trains.

    • Olympic Route Network in operation so expect delays on A11, A12, A13, A406.
    • Police update
      • There are no significant issues to report.
